Follow the menu links to see not only how Grumpy’s Rat Rod was built, but also a gallery of Past Events with many other great creations and rebuilds of some great classic cars and trucks. It also tells how God, the great creator, has repurposed my life.
Grumpy’s Rat Rod is home-shop built. The center piece of the build is the engine. The frame uses two channels from the donor fire truck that were re-purposed and the rest of the frame was hand-built using rectangular steel tubing. The cab is a 1941 Dodge farm truck, last registered in Texas in 1967. Many other components of the build were found in the scrapyard or salvaged from other junk. A lot of discarded, unusable pieces came together to create a one-of-a-kind 'Rat Rod'.
The building of a rat rod is much the same as God's Plan. Because of sin I was separated from God, and a cast out. Being cast out and separated, I was destined for an eternity in Hell (the junk pile). But God, the greatest creator, has a plan. He sent His Son Jesus to redeem me from the 'junk pile'. In Christ, I have been made new. A new one-of-a-kind creation.
